What is SCRIP?
SCRIP is a term used to describe gift cards that contribute a designated percentage of the card value to your school or organization when purchased. The contribution is made by the card-issuing merchant while the buyer is able to spend the full face value. Amounts of contributions vary depending upon the merchant issuing the gift card. |

How does buying gift certificates from City-Scrip benefit me?
Every certificate available through City-Scrip is discounted to provide savings to you as the consumer. It is a unique concept in fundraising that your act of saving money will also produce a benefit to both the community schools and organizations as well as support local business. Visit City-Scrip often as these discounted certificates are always in limited supply. |

How does buying gift certificates or cards from City-Scrip help my school or organization?
When you buy gift cards/certificate from City-Scrip, a percentage is donated from your local merchant to the school or organization. These donations are tracked by City- Scrip and payments are issued quarterly to the school or group. |

Does the percentage that the school or organization earns come from me or from the merchant?
When you buy gift cards/certificates from City-Scrip, the designate percentage is donated to your school or organization by the participating local merchant…not you. For example, if you pay $25 for a certificate that has a face value of $50, the certificate is worth $50 in goods or services from that particular merchant. The donation does not take away from the value of your certificate. The certificate merchant in conjunction with City-Scrip will in turn donate a % of your purchase price ($25) to your choice of schools or organizations. |

Who determines the percentage of contribution to the schools or organizations?
The participating local merchants in conjunction with City-Scrip determine how much of each gift certificate/card will be contributed to your selected school or organization. In most cases the amounts range from 10% to as much as 50%. |

Are there any additional costs to me?
The only additional fees are shipping charges. You will be charged $2.00 or less per order for shipping. Size of order and destination may affect shipping fees. |

Am I obligated to purchase/participate?
No. You can participate as much or as little as you like. |

How will I know how much my City-Scrip purchases have earned for my school or organization?
As a school or organization member, you can log into your personal account to view your earned donations.
Each school/organization has a coordinator that is able to access all sales and donations. If you need assistance with logging in to your organizations account page, contact us.

Can I participate in the program even if my school or organization hasn’t signed up?
Yes! When you place your order, indicate which school or organization you would like the contributions to go to. Donations will be tracked by City-Scrip and payments issued quarterly to the school or group of your choice even if that school has not become an active program participant. |

What if my school/organization is not listed when I check out?
You can enroll your group for free. There is never any cost to participate. To learn more, click here. |

Can friends and relatives participate in the program?
Yes, this is what makes City-Scrip such a great tool for your community. Anyone can purchase from City-Scrip and in doing so, support not only their local businesses but also their local charitable groups and schools. When friends or family complete their orders, they simply choose a school or organization as the recipient of the merchant donations. |

How often does the school or organization get a check for the contributions earned?
Each school or organization will receive a check once every six months. The account must have a minimum of $50 in donations to receive a donation check. |

How soon will I receive my City-Scrip ertificates after I order?
You should receive your gift certificates in approximately 7 business days or less from the time your order is received. |

Do the gift cards expire?
Each merchant has different terms and conditions listed on the back of the gift card/certificate for your review. Prior to purchase, you may view the terms and conditions on the item product page. |

What does the word “Scrip” mean?
The word “Scrip” is derived from a Latin term meaning “substitute currency”. In the case of City-Scrip, you are simply substituting cash, credit or check payment for a certificate or gift card. The result is a donation being created and granted by local merchants. |
